Lake Layout & Key Structure

Steep shoreline drops to deep basins, several offshore humps, and good cabbage flats in the bays. Tullibee in the deep water provides forage that fattens up walleye and pike year-round.

Seasonal Walleye Tactics

🌱 Spring (Ice-out – June)

Walleyes on the rocky points and inlet areas 6–12 ft. Cooler water lasts longer here than shallower lakes — opener bite extends.

☀️ Summer (June – August)

Walleyes deep — 25–35 ft on the main basin breaks. Slow-death rigs and leeches. Smallmouth on rocky points 12–18 ft.

🍂 Fall (September – Ice-up)

Trophy walleye chase tullibees shallow at night. Big-bait, slow-presentation game.

🧊 Winter (Ice fishing)

Walleye in 25–35 ft on the deep break edges. Tullibees provide a winter forage base. Crappies suspend in deep basin holes (40–60 ft).

Regulations: Standard MN inland walleye regs.
